Myth is based on the traditional Tứ Linh mythology of Vietnam, or Four Holy Beasts: the Dragon, Phoenix, Turtle and Qilin. Its box is inspired by typical Mooncake packaging.

The Concept

Assemble various combinations of creatures and choose whether you want to build your own stash or destroy others. Myth is a fast-paced strategic game with a great twist: the Secret Hand. Hold the exact combination of cards in your hands — no more, no less — and steal another player’s gold!

How to Win

Be the first player to get 12 gold coins by using the right combinations of creatures.

How to Play

  • Shuffle separately the deck of Creatures and the deck of Gold Coins.
  • Turn over 8 Gold Coin cards at the center, face up; leave the remaining for replacement, face down.
  • Deal each player 5 Creature cards, leave the remaining as drawing pile face down at the center.
  • Each turn, players draw 1 card and play up to 2 actions, which can be:
    • Building up your Army — put a creature card down in front of you. Only these creatures, visible to all players, can purchase Gold Coins. Creatures in your hand cannot be used (except in Defense).
    • Attacking a Player’s Army — each Creature in your Army or Hand can destroy the same Creature in another player’s Library (Dragon/Dragon, Phoenix/Phoenix, etc). Both creatures are destroyed and discarded into the center. A player can defend themself.
    • Purchase Gold Coins — using the right Creatures in your Army, acquire the Gold Coins in the centre (discard the Creatures used into the center).

  • Defense: when you are attacked by a Creature, you can decide to sacrifice its “Defense Creature” instead, from your Army or from your hand. That way, you lose this Creature instead of the one attacked.
  • Empty Hand: if a player has no card at the end of their turn, they draw 5 cards on the next turn.
  • Secret Hand: if a player holds in their hands the exact combination for a Gold Coin (no card needed from their Library, no remaining other card, just the exact combination), they can put down their whole hand as 1 action to purchase the Gold Coin. It is the only time the hand can be used instead of the Army. A Secret Hand can buy a Gold Coin from the center or steal one from another player; in any case all Creatures used are discarded into the center.

Tip: 4-Gold-Coin cards also provide their owner with 1 Creature on each turn. These “free Creatures” can be used as an additional card to create combinations, and are considered discarded on this turn when used.
